Pause between songs

    This is one of those things I've wanted to ask about for a while.

    Why MUST the iPod pause between songs? Its only like 1/10 of a second long, but its noticeable when listening to... say Dark Side of the Moon or a newer Tool album.

    it's something that people have complained about for a loooooooooong time now in itunes and the ipod... google "gapless playback itunes" and there will be many hits of complaints.

    I'm sure its not on purpose. But Apple can pretend it is.

    I like the pause it lets me know the previous song is finished

    Hopefully, gapless playback will be included in the next iPod revision.
