Stupid Braves thats exactly what i was thinking, people from my area. we should do a get together of people in and around atlanta. what say?

i have not been to botanical garden for a while. that would be a nice place with a camera in hand.
Don't take this as a shameless plug, or an attempt to hijack the thread, it's not. But if you Atlantans (I work in Lawrenceville) like baseball, please check this out.

- There will be many free things given away that day (signed baseballs, cards, maybe a jersey or two).
I've been to a few that they held a really long time ago, and I've gotten to meet Smoltz, Pendelton, and Bream. It should be a really neet experience if you're interested. I may be there, depending on how the move goes and what not, so we could all possibly meet there.

I have the same lens (non-IS) and I think it's fantastic! You can hand-hold shots at any range without blur if you shoot 1/200sec or faster, and with the brightness of this lens, that shouldn't be a problem for any outdoor or well-lit room. I was at a Blue Jays game a few weeks back and was able to shoot at 1/800sec consistently.
The following are some sample hand-held sports shots.
Motorbike: ISO-400, 200mm, 1/1600 @ f/2.8
Baseball: ISO-200, 200mm, 1/1250 @f/2.8
Both: Canon 20D, 70-200 2.8L
