It seems I've gone the opposite to what most people normally do, iPhone + Android tablet. Imported a Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 inch from China, didn't like the bloat of MIUI/HyperOS so I flashed a Project Elixir GSI ROM onto it.

Unfortunately the Pixel lineup is not sold here from Google. They have a very poor sales strategy for a company which supposedly is trying to expand. Here in northern Europe Android is very popular so Pixel should do well if marketed correctly and if Google opened an online store. Or had one or more of the three main carriers carry the product.

I feel like they don't try enough or care to expand ...

Google CAN'T!
They need to be VERY very careful in the EU else tbeyll get smacked for being a full and true monopoly as they are:

Providee of the AndroidOS kernel and stack Google Services.
App store - evwn if side loading and other stores are possible, they still havw that 30% (unless recently changed) store front fee.
Now competing directly against their clients in the hardware space and taking improvements clients have and implementing them in updates. I recall PalmOS doing this with 2.x to 4.x which was skipped and then 5.0 debuted - piasing Sony off which immediately left that platform. Here we are.

So yeah gOogle is being VERY careful. Rifhtdully so as Eu has some sweiously hefty fines and conditions as weve swwn with Apple and their almost done sorting that rotten fruit out. Whom do u think will be next? ;)

I have noticed lots of people using nova Launcher, is it safe since it has been purchased by that advertising company?

We had a few discussions on separate platforms and discord about it . including developers answering on the launcher and where it was headed as well as the privacy concerns .. obviously each person would have to decide for themselves..

Unfortunately there goes the power of open-sourced. Unless the project is heavily funded by the public which sees true value and NO ads nor data mining, then the old adage always remains true!

This will always be the case!
