I made this variable electronic load tester to test 12 volt power supplies. It's got a 10 turn pot for precision load adjustments. I made it out of parts I had in stock. It can handle a 10 amp load continuously To be honest, I made it out of boredom. That being said, It came in handy after repairing a few linear power supplies..

Well, it does take an investment in machinery, tools, materials and talent in 3D modeling.

That done, the imagination is the limit for anyone.

Not sure if I've ever posted a picture here before or not, so I apologize if this ain't the right way to do it. ;)

This week I did my first woodworking project. It was roughly $35 all told. Used my brother in law's tools.

I'm really proud of how it turned out. Eventually, I'll build a larger one for the wall in my someday-home-gym; until then this trial run is 19.5" tall and 37" wide and I kind of love it.

Here is something I made for the over worked and under appreciated payroll girl at work. We are all working long hard hours, and I'm talking at least 12 hrs a day sometimes up to 20, 7 days a week. She manages payroll for 100's of guys and does a great job, I heard she had a breakdown the other day and is stressed out, so I thought a little something like this would show we greatly appreciate her getting us our paychecks on time every week.

It is a name plate, I took a chunk of corian and cut out the name with a scroll saw, then backed it with some poplar wood. The name can slide in and out, and sits slightly recessed. About 12x6" and 1.25" thick, it can now be sat on a desktop or hung up on a wall.
