Less than 1 day old 13" MBP 2.4. I swapped the hard drive out with the 320GB 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus upgrade from my MacBook. I think my 2.2BlackBook got a 3.1, limited by the gaming graphics (x3100) and most other scores around 5.

MBP trackpad takes some getting used to... (sorry, random.)

I also have an SSD and the Nvidia GT 330M card but I get a 5.3? I have 8gb of ram too? Anyone have a clue to why my score is this low?

...maybe when you test it the MBP is only running off the on-board GPU vs the GT 330?

My VisionTek ATI 4550 dedicated desktop GPU in my win7 desktop AMD quad only scores a 4.9 on the WEI but its plenty powerful for its intended uses...

I thought in Windows it only runs the 330m? How would I make it run only the 330M then when running the test?

I'm pretty sure it does. You're not using the drivers from the OSX disk are you? They're known to be very outdated.

Hop on over to nvidia.com and download the new 257.21 driver for the graphics card. I get a 6.2 or something like that on my Late 2008 MBP for Graphics and Gaming Graphics. If you're feeling really naughty, you can try the beta driver. I have never had any trouble with beta drivers. Your millage may vary. I'm currently using the June 29th beta driver and it's working great.

The only issue I've had is installing the driver. You MUST fully uninstall ALL nVidia drivers from your system, then restart, and install the new ones. That's my experience though. You can always try to update the current driver. No harm done.

Thanks. The driver I am using now is Jan of 2010 and the one Apple supplied me with was April 2010 but I get 6.4 with the one I just downloaded.

I get a general score of 5.9 and now the memory is 5.9. Anyway to increase the memory? Before I removed my 8gb my ram showed up as 6.7? Why did I remove the 8gb? I was having a problem with the intel graphics and 8gb of ram. Didn't really need it anyway. I am now using 1 4gb stick of ram.

Your Mac supports dual-channel RAM - that is why it sped up with 8GB.

I built a computer for $340 that had scores of ~7 in everything but the hard drive. Probably no coincidence hard drive was pulled from my iMac. :D

I did some upgrades to my MacBook Pro over the past month or so (SSD, small 9600M GT overclock, 4GB>8GB RAM):

My previous scores were 6.3/5.9/6.4/6.4/5.9. Definitely improved!

Update your drivers

late 2008 MBPRO 2.53,4GB's,320GB 7200RPM

ljay:

I suggest you and all of the rest to keep your drivers up to date. I have 6.0 and 6.1 scores in both graphics test. My card is a 8600m GT 256mb. No overclocking.

Download latest Drivers from http://www.nvidia.com and I strongly recommend you upgrade to Windows 7. In my case is Win7 Professional and DirectX 11 may help you.

My scores:
Processor:.............6.1
RAM:....................6.0
3D Graphics:..........6.1
Aero Performance....6.0

AND THE ***** DRIVE APPLE SHIPS:
Primary HD:............4.9

I like this thread by the way. It gives me some idea of roughly how my Mac is doing compared to others.

I'll have to post the 2.13 specs later. The overall index doesn't change for the 2.13, of course, because the graphics chip (GFX) rating is the same.

Same problem here. Standard unibody MBP 2.53, my vista hdd score was 5.3, and now its 2.9. Latest boot camp drivers and was installed as an upgrade to vista ultimate x64. Maybe win7 doesn't like 5400rpm drives?

Got the exact same score (well for the HD) with Win7 x64. Suprised by this because I scored near a 5.0 when I ran the same test with Win7 x86. Really confused by this.

System: Mid 08 MBP (Bought June/July)
System Specs:Intel Core 3 Duo 2.4GHz; 4GB RAM; nVidia GeForce 8600M GT

Here is my mid-2010 i7 imac. The disk score is the bottleneck. The recommendation at the bottom about the disk is that I do not have 1 gb of contiguous free space. I guess I could do the recommendations and try again but I am not too worried about it.

MacBook Air 2.13GHz 256GB SSD 4GB Ram Late 2010

This is the result for my MacBook Air 13" 2.13GHz 256GB SSD 4GB Ram Late 2010. Anyone who says this machine is great only for web browsing, emails and the like haven't used one. Absolutely awesome laptop.

That's very nice. You should definitely look into replacing the optical drive with a caddy so that you can install a SSD while keeping your HDD in-tact. Would bring your primary hard disk score up.

Yeah, the MBA's are quite powerful machines, even for Windows 7. Makes me want to get one, even though I have a number of extra recent laptops :(.
