My girlfriend's PowerBook (the one listed below) has a strange problem - when its on its battery, it drains to about 38%, and then all of the sudden, it'll go to 0% and go into sleep mode. In addition, while charging, it does something similar (going to about 50-something percent, and then all of the sudden, going to 100%).

She applied the Battery Update 1.1, and that didn't solve the problem. She's cycled the battery a few times, and nothing seems to work.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Most likely solved with a PMU reset (power management unit)

Slim chance - any chance you might be affected by the battery recall?

Well, we've calibrated the battery several times, and I just reset the PMU, and its still exhibiting the same behavior. And the battery wasn't included in the recall.

Unfortuantely, her warranty just expired about 3 weeks ago.
