The Iron Throne
Hey guys,
I just bought a 12" Powerbook G4 off of craigslist for $400. I'm geeked about it, since it's my first mac (hopefully followed by a MBP in a few months). :D I got a pretty good deal, I think. I would like to max out the RAM on it.

I did some research and I just want to make sure I have it right before I order from newegg.

According to Apple's spec page, this Powerbook (12" @ 1.5Ghz) maxes out at 1.25GB of ram. But I'm also reading that it's a single RAM slot. My question is, how do you get 1.25Gbs of RAM with one slot? Would that mean buying a 2GB stick and losing 3/4 of it?

Also, I'm reading that macs are finicky about what RAM they'll take. Would any PC2700 @ 333mhz do it, or is there a particular brand that you guys use?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The 12" PBs had 256MB soldered in. So one 1GB strip will max it out for you.
