I'm getting ready to sell my ibook g4 (getting a sweet powerbook :D ). I've already backed up all my stuff on my external hard drive. Is there a way to make it so when the buyer first turns the computer on, they see the "welcome" screen? You know, when you buy a new computer it shows "welcome" in different languages? Not sure if its possible.

Hi,

What I'd do is re-install OS X on the machine, but after the initial reboot, just turn it off. It should work no worries, and then the new user will get the Welcome screen.

I can't see any problems with it.

Anothing thing. You may want to zero the drive before you reinstall so the buyer can't recover any of your data.

Only if you have sensitive documents for work or something. Its really a waste of time to zero out your email messages saying "lets get drunk" or your porn links.
