I read John Brooks' post on A.P.P.L.E.'s web site (http://www.callapple.org/uncategorized/announcing-prodos-2-4-for-all-apple-ii-computers). ProDOS on a Apple II got me through my first two years of Engineering and Engineering Physics back in the late 80s, when I moved to System 6 at University on SEs... I loved their magazine...

Val Golding and Bob Huelsdonk would have loved this milestone update!

It would be nice to see this on the MR home page, but I guess "iDevice rumors with the occasional Mac tidbit thrown in" probably doesn't care about an update to an OS for 30 year old hardware...even if it was hardware that actually kept Apple afloat long enough to make iPhones.

This update made my Apple IIe unusable, they just want you to upgrade to the IIgs or the Mac.

I'm buying Commodore next time!

Miyamoto at the Apple keynote didn't even make front page here and that's huge news. Since that can't even make front page news here, prodos updates don't have squat of a chance either.

I am sure that the problem is not the latest versions of software. Most likely - clutter the system.

It is a single 140K 5.25" disk image. Nary an 800k to be seen!
