Looking for recommendations for a good portable midi controller- have been thinking about the Irig 37 key controller- anyone have any other ideas? Really would be just for basic keyboard input- looking for something better than typing on my macbook keyboard.

Any suggestions welcome!

Korg nanoKEY, Novation Launchkey Mini and the iRig is a good choice too. :)

I think it depends if you need built-in sounds or if you will only us it with a computer. And if by chance if yo like piano type action or just springs under the keys. for simply editing music rather then performing music you don't need much the irig looks good

If you want to use it for performance also then I would recommend actually trying them out if possible. Many manufacturers have cut cost with the actual keyboard so you'll probably pay a little more for better action. My Axion 49 works for what I use it for but the keys are a little wobbly compared to my older boards. It does have good after touch though.

Thanks for the suggestions- I'll swing by Guitar Center to try them out before i decide.

:)
