Recovery mode exits after 15 minutes

My iphone 4 is disabled with 45 year's time limit. I want to restore it. While doing so, as suggested on apple support. While downloading iphone software update, recovery mode exits after 15 minutes and when i connect the device again downloading starts from the beginning. How can i restore my phone now.

Try with downloading IPSW to your desktop and when done, do a DFU restore.

There used to be a glitch that when you plugged it in and unplugged it while synching it would lose the disabled time.... Does this not work anymore?
