Recovery partition install to different hard drive?

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro that came with Lion (got it last week). I was able to get a hold of the 10.6.6 install disks that came with the early 2011 and I'm now testing the installation. It installed, and during the first boot I noticed two-finger scrolling as well as volume buttons (and F~) weren't working. Updating to 10.6.8 seems to have fixed both issues.

Since I dont have the install disc/usb key for Lion, does anyone know if its possible to install Lion from the recovery partition onto a DIFFERENT hard drive? I've got the recovery partition in my 750gb internal but I am curious (to be future proof) if this will let me install it in my Intel 320 SSD drive in the optibay caddy (replacing the ODD).

    Thanks!

Upon installing 10.6.6, my Windows 7 partition WILL NOT boot anymore. This is strange. Hopefully re-installing it will fix it.
