Today I received a replacement iPhone 5 from the apple store and my new phone has a weird serial number that I never seen before. Usually it's MD##@@@@ blah blah. Where ## indicates the build week but mine starts out DNPJ@@@@@ with only one number in my serial number. Anyone have the same experience? Does this mean my phone is a refurbished phone? Can't be since the phones has barely been out for less than a week.

Side note: exchanged my phone due to dust in my rear camera lens. My new phone is flawless by the way and battery life is way improved over the old 5 which was great too.

one of my replacement phones only has 1 number as well. Had to check through 4 phones before getting a good one.
what's that website again?

update: week 36

I'm not sure of the web site but someone post it up if you know it. It's the site that allows the checking of serial number for iPhones

did they give you a brand new in box one or a refurb in a plain box?

Mine was DNPJD replaced today.

Honestly, what's the difference? I have a DNPJ and it was brand new from Verizon. This phone is awesome, I don't get all the obsession with build weeks.
