Well, the superdrive in my eMac quit reading and writing DVDs, so I am going to replace it. I have a few questions though.

1. Will it be that hard? I have the ATI graphics version and from reading around a bit it sounds like this one is alot easier to install a new optical drive in than the older eMacs.

2. If I get the exact same drive listed in system profiler, will I have to use patchburn to use it in iDVD and finder? Or will it just see it as the same drive.

Thanks

#1. Read some guides and decide for yourself, I don't know what 'hard' is to you. What IS REAL, Neo?!

#2. Chances are, patchburn will be required with any drive you put in. I wouldn't let that factor influence your decision.

Good Luck :)
