How would I get my computer to run a script at a given time? Say I want my computer to run a script every morning at 8 AM. How would I do such a thing? Sorry, I'm not too experienced with Applescript or anything along those lines.

Also, as a side question, is there a way to have an Applescript constantly check for something? Or am I thinking of a daemon?

launchd is probably the best way.

You may find lingon more friendly than editing the config manually.

Or, create an event in iCal, then set an alarm, and choose the run script option.
