I could do with some help, I'm trying to share the iTunes library between 2 accounts on my MacBook Pro.

I've set both iTunes Music folders to a shared location that both accounts can see but the problem is if I delete a song or purchase a new one it doesn't update on the other account I have to manually add it.

Any ideas?

Place the iTunes Library folder in Macintosh HD > Users > Shared.

...Then, right-click (control-click) that folder and select "Make Alias" and place that alias in your user's music folder (or where the iTunes library was formerly). Do the same for the other user.

Each time iTunes accesses the library, it will be redirected to the shared library.

Well the other iTunes application won't know that anything has been added, this is the crux of your problem. With the way iTunes works I don't think there is a solution to this problem.

Good that you got it setup for multiple accounts though.
