iPod Single iPod on two computers (Mac and PC)

My mom got a free iPod when I bought my computer this summer and she's been using it wither her laptop (windows) from work. Now she's looking to replace our desktop at home and I think that I've convinced her to get an iMac. So I'm wondering, will she be able to sync the iPod with both the mac and the PC? When I talked to a genius at the Apple store a few days ago, he said that it would be possible... but then again, those folks aren't the sharpest needles in the box.

So... Is this possible?

Yes.
A Windows formatted iPod will work fine on both a PC or a Mac.
