Skype App Question

Today, I tried skype-ing with my cousin. Although we both saw each other, she could not hear me (but I heard her fine).

I just checked and the setting for my microphone is "on". So perhaps there was some setting that needed adjusting at her end? (I believe she was using an Android tablet.

Maybe the volume wasn't up or things were set to silent?
