so.. how do 'multiply' in the calculator widget (shortcut)???

i used to be able to press 'x' to multiply in the dashboard in prior OSX, but when i press 'x' nothing happens.

all other shortcuts are working

- key subtracts
= key equals
shift+ +/= key adds

so how the hell do i multiply quickly?
