That's crazy. I'm not sure, I feel like it was fishy that you could do orders over the phone but would have to pay shipping but online there's no shipping or taxes at least for upgrades with iPhone forever. Over the phone orders worked but the site was buggy.

I got mine through right as the rep on the phone was telling me the shipping cost. Had him stop his order real quick. Seems a bit fishy.

Been having this problem for weeks with them, only way I was able to fix it by changing the page to Spanish and using Google Chrome to translate the page.

I got one order in. Thanks for the tip on refreshing cache that did the trick.

Next question. Has anyone did iPhone forever turned in an older phone, like a Samsung Replenish which is technically a smartphone. I have it laying around and it works, I'd prefer to keep my 6plus since I paid for it outright. Makes no sense to give them a 1k phone to get a 7$ discount but is glady turn over the Samsung.

I did, I gave them an old HTC EVO Shift, no problems whatsoever and kept my iphone 6 64gb.

Some math to consider:

7 x 12 = $84

As appealing as this discounted plan is, we have to remember that $15/mo is an introductory rate that requires a trade in for existing customers. So AFTER you upgrade (most likely 12mo from now) then in the end your savings end and now we've turned in a perfectly functional smartphone for a temporary savings of... $84.

iPhone Forever is GOOD for:
- New customers (trade in not required if you're new)
- Existing Easy Pay customers because you haven't paid off your phone yet
- People who plan on sticking with this phone for a long long time
- People who were planning on trading in anyway (Some Framily users had a free upgrade)
- People with a drawer full of qualifying trade in devices that they were never going to use

iPhone Forever is BAD for:
- iPhone users who could sell that thing for 3x more
- People who plan on upgrading early

For me, I'm 12mo deep on an Easy Pay iPhone 6+ which means I have $460 balance. While I could make money by buying it out and selling it, the profit wouldn't be very significant. So trading in an iPhone 6+ is a convenience.

One thing you forgot to talk about on price is, if he traded in an old smartphone and saved 84 a year, plus he could sell his iphone 6 plus outright for about 600 then he made a huge profit.

Honestly the iPhone forever plan is good for people who upgrade ever year.

Most of the time now you have to pay full price, so base model is 700 after taxes. After a year and the next iphone comes out that 16gb is only going to get around 400. So that is 300 you lost over the year, not too bad.

The iPhone forever plan is 15 right now, so 15 x 12 = $180 you would spend and not have to worry about selling. When it goes up to 22 x 12 = $264 so still not bad.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to pay off my lease. My local store says they can't do it there, I need to call customer care. Customer care is useless, after transferring me around for an hour and a half, including once to my local store for some unknown reason, I gave up. The chat support seems down right now too. Any idea what to try next?

I preordered in store and was I was the first to preorder in my local store. My phone will be a direct ship to store and they'll call me to pick up. Same process as last year. Very smooth and I had my phone on release day.

I ordered the space gray 64gb 6s plus.

Anyone able to confirm if we will be paying Sales Tax on an iPhone Forever device? Sprint usually charges that stuff up front but so far all I see is the activation fee.

You don't pay sales tax up front. It's included in the payment.

Good to know. I was told I could in chat and kept the transcript too. Will probably be good to go.

That was my point with trading in an older phone, that it would be a big savings. I can keep my iP6+ or sell/trade it for far more than the 84 or 168 elsewhere.

Did anyone who ordered last year online get theirs on launch day? My local storse had extras but only in 16 and 128 sizes of the 6 no + and no gold.
I actually would not mind of mine were a couple weeks later as I know I'll be getting exactly what I want and don't have to chance it driving to Nashville and standing in line for hours, only to find out they sold the last one of what I wanted 20 minutes ago. It's okay, silver was my second choice.

Perhaps it'll be charged in your bill...not really sure.

I ordered two iPhone 6 plus 128gb black last year and they were delivered on launch day.

I went with 128 this go round due to the live photos and 4k recording. Got black this time to switch it up, hopefully I get it at launch. Got my wife a rose gold 64 which was still listed as 25th delivery at that time.

Shocked that the majority are getting 6s+s
Keep in mind that this is a fan site. Regular people still buy the most basic and cheapest device. But The people who go online to talk about a product they don't even own yet are not the average user.

5S - Gold sold out much faster than the rest
6 - Biggest screen models were hardest to acquire
6S - Pink is selling out faster than the rest

Its not that Gold or Bigger or Pink are "better" than the rest. It's more about how many upgraders battling how similar these devices have become by making the choice that looks most different than the previous model. (I buy black every time but at 1:30A I subconsciously decided that I should get pink. Thank goodness I use cases)

thats not what I was talking about. I was strictly referring to the results in this thread. Most users here are getting the Sprint 6s. Color isnt reflected in the poll

I'm having a hard time with sprint started using their service on Thursday just to get the 6s plus so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for the phone like I did for my last two iPhones and now they keep asking for me to verify information!!! I just hope I'll be able to get my phone on time

I preordered online last year too, and got mine day one. Though Sprint is really really horrible about updating the tracking. I didn't even know mine shipped until UPS notified me it was out for shipping through their app.

…I buy black every time…
Question.

When was the last time Apple had a black iPhone?

For purposes of my question you cannot count the black front glass as making the entire phone black. Unless you intended to mean "I buy black front iPhones every time".

I ask my question because the iPhone 5 was the last iPhone I know of that was Black/Slate. Every iPhone after that only had Space Gray as a color closest to black.

I've had this discussion with multiple people here before so let me state that I realize you could have meant Space Gray when you said "black" and that there is an assumption out there that saying "black" is to be interpreted as Space Gray.

I also realize many people here perceive this as nit-picky on my part. But if someone is going to claim their car is black simply because the tires are black I have an issue with that. This is the same thing. You can't claim your iPhone is black just because the front panels happen to be black. The entire case is Space Gray and Gray is not black.

Not trying to pick a fight, but there is currently NO black iPhone. Only Space Gray with a black front.

The iPhone 5c was Black

Considering many (most?) people use a case, then is it really that crazy for people to call a product by the color that they see most?

With the white models then nobody ever called their phone "Silver". They only began saying "Gold" because its a differentiator between two similar models, but without any other options then it makes perfect sense to say "White" or "Black".

I don't use a case but I also don't want to hijack and derail this thread over something that's really only relevant to me and a few others.

Just wanted to ask the question and now I have your answer/opinion so I'll just drop the matter and move on.

Does anyone know which carrier Sprint is using to ship?

Is there any reason I shouldn't do a two-year contract with Sprint? According to my math, it will come out slightly cheaper if I do. Right now I'm leaning towards the 128gb 6s, so with contract that's $400 for the phone plus $1392 ($58/month on the 1 GB/month data plan with a credit union discount) for two years of service, totaling $1792. If I go no contract, that's $850 for the phone and $1032 ($43/month) for two years of service, totalling $1882. The tax difference might narrow the gap by a few more dollars, but is there something else I'm missing? I would likely keep this phone longer than two years. Thank you.

My 2 years is up in a month...They say I can renew the 2 year deal. News says sprint is doing away with plans...sprint rep confirmed this...they said they will honor the contracts, but may not renew the next time round.
This really has me on the fence about leasing/ Iphone for life etc...

As I understand contracts are going away. However, the option is still currently available if you want to go that route.

unless you forsee yourself leaving Sprint and if 1gb is fine, then go on contract. Also remember that you only pay tax on $400 whereas buying the phone outright is tax on $850

I was in the same boat and decided to go on contract bc here was my breakdown

Contract:
64gb phone = $323 after tax
Everything 450 Data - ~$78 (after fees and 18% discount) x 24months = 1872
Upgrade Fee = $36
Total = $2231

Full Purchase
64gb phone = $800 after tax
Unlimited Plan - ~$65 (after fees and 18% discount) x 24 months = 1560
Total = $2360

I'll save roughly $130 by going the contract route
