I honestly only use my ipad for reading comics, and procreate. that's it . I was tempted by the oled model, but for what I do I couldnt justify it. and it has nasty PWM

I do absolutely nothing else with it. every other task is a pain. it's a big iphone, but way less ergonomic, heavier, with a worse screen (i got a m1)

that's why I could be interested in an iphone fold

I'm not going to lie. Is OS 26 the most stable and perfect OS build. no. Was it rushed. Maybe.

Am I personally experiencing any issues on my 17 PM, no.

I will say, however that Apple is very keen on noticing and fixing the issues in time. All comes down to bug reporting. if all icons are blurry, then its on Apple. if some are and some are not, it's the Devs responsibility.
iOS 26 is ass! Apple's vision for the UI was reckless like a drunk driver behind the wheel.

I think I am the only person on an Apple forum who actually liked their products at this point.

Goes back to writing a proof on his iPad...
Edit: Disclaimer - I am not a "Pro" iPad user. I save that for my 16' MBP.

I just got done using my iPad mini A17 over half of today... with iPad OS 26... Been really happy with it. lol. My wife is enjoying iPad OS 26 on her iPad Pro M2...

While I look forward to iOS 26 getting a bit more efficient, it's made my 15 Pro Max feel faster than it did on iOS 18.

Really enjoying Watch OS 26's Low Power Mode on my Apple Watch - actually seems to more than 2x my battery life, lol. Loving my Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Sorry sorry sorry, I realize we are supposed to rag on Apple, blame "Timmy" Cook for everything, and say that Apple is going to fail for sure now.

Right, it’s not a full blown computer. That’s why I like to use it more than my MacBooks (and of course, Windows computer). I don’t even use the multitasking (be it the windowing in iPad OS 26 or Stage Manager in previous versions). I like the one app at a time paradigm.

The UI is a mess

The keyboard and trackpad/mouse support is ass

Multitasking is that of an etch and sketch

The walled garden software sucks since devs gave up

It is not a computer

It is a single purpose glorified calculator with youtube

Never again buying an Apple product till Tim is gone
You realise, of course, the original iPad was introduced by Steve Jobs - not Tim Cook.

You realise, of course, that the original iPad was functionally a million miles away from where it is today.

Dont buy anything nobody cares.

Because the iPad has only gotten worse since Jobs passed…
What’s this obsession with blaming Cook for everything? It’s so funny, the less you know, the more Cook is at fault.

Yes, the iPad is still rather limited and has received some downgrades with iOS 26.
But saying it’s a glorified, YouTube capable calculator with a single purpose is simply not correct.
It may not be of much use for you except for content consumption, but it is faaaar more capable than Jobs ever anticipated.
Maybe the problem isn’t the iPad…

Apple is noticing and fixing issues on time?
I’m sorry, but no. Just no.
I somewhat held off going all in with feedback reports during the beta, because I knew I wasn’t the only one experiencing the issues I did, and because of my previous experience with the beta/feedback program (since iOS 9).
Since the official release I’ve been filing more reports than I ever did for any new major version.
iOS 26 is a hot mess. It’s nice that you don’t encounter (enough) problems, but others sure do. I now file on average at least one report per day, and have done so for some weeks. And the issues I report on aren’t new or uncommon either.
Soooo many visual bugs. I have encountered bugs in almost every single system app, except for Reminders (because I rarely use it). But the widget is buggy so yeah.
YMMV and I can’t comment on iPadOS. Only iOS, watchOS, MacOS and AirPods.

My iPad(s) have always been my favorite Apple devices. iPad was actually my gateway to eventually fully emerging into “the garden.”

But for me they have always been purely media consumption devices. I tried the new multitasking on my m3 Air and turned it off after one evening.

Morning coffee and checking the world news with the iPad while rest of the family is still sleeping… priceless.

Wow. A calculator with youtube. Crazy because I do 90-95% of my job on an 11 inch ipad with keyboard. And I'm not an actuary so I use more than the calculator though I do watch youtube on it.

The irony is that with the new multitasking options in the settings, if you use the “fullscreen” option, the iPad today is about as close to the original 2010 iPad as it gets.
In “Fullscreen” mode there are absolutely no window ornaments around the display, no menu bar, absolutely no multitasking support, everything literally just runs in full screen mode, just like the original iPad.
For people who literally want the iPad as it was introduced, that’s more possible today than it was in iOS 18.

This is where my iPad sits. Full screen option - and I'm happy with my usage. For everything else there's my MBP and my iPhone.

I’ve been using iPad os 26 today and the stupidity in this so called os is a joke.
The ”slide over” are gone.

”Split view” are still there but the awkward way to activate it, its just ridiculous.
In iOS 18 you just press on the three dots on top of an app and choose want you want,
and just press another app and there you finished.
Now you have to open a app, then you have to bring down the menu from the top and long press the colored buttons and then choose what to do.
And for the second app you have to do the same over again…

The weird sway animation when you open an app, that goes from side to side, or sometimes it’s sways from top before the app is set to screen.
The only way to get rid of this nonsense is to turn off animations completely, with reduce motion in settings, which i don’t want.
Apple must think i’m 8 years old and i like it.

I can at least give Apple some cred, because Apple just saved me a lot of money.
I’m not gonna upgrade my 5 year old iPad to a newer one, and the only reason for that is the iPados 26😅

I needed if PAGES titles matched SKETCHCLUB titles
alas, I used that feature since 2017.

so
yesterday iPad was such an easy game to play
Now the other app done hide away
which was not on half of the display
Now I long for yesterday
There's a shadow hanging over what dismay
Oh, that feature left suddenly!
Now I long for yesterday
Why Tim... let that go away?
I don't know, he wouldn't say
I musta swiped something wrong?
Now I long for yesterday

on the iPad!
Swipe one app to the left, one to the right, tada you now have split screen.

just to let you know that this is very bad advice, this reply.
which is probably step 5 as we just can't swipe an app

what do I swipe?
the icon folder on the toolbar? the home screen, the Tim Cook?

nevermind i won't use the iPad for configuring titles since the execution might delete the program.

Y-e-a-h… Still not liking...

I didn’t use Split View a lot but the simplicity was much more welcome. I hate Apple caved to those who are bored and screamed “We want iPad to be a Mac!” News flash! /s It’s not! A Mac is a Mac. Get a MacBook! Ugh!

You can ignore the second half of the video. I just picked this because it was a decent demo.
Thank you SO much for attaching that video, @MacCheetah3

I was so surprised and disappointed when the old split screen suddenly disappeared. This video was incredibly helpful.

Thank you for sharing it!

I couldn’t disagree more with the OP. You want a laptop, so buy a laptop and leave the iPad alone. I’m an artist, and the iPad is the best device Apple has ever made in my opinion. I ditched my macbook for an iPad Pro in 2018 and haven’t looked back. It is a much more versatile device than a laptop could ever be. Not only is it a better tool for drawing on with the apple pencil, it is also more enjoyable to edit photos & videos on, to consume media on, to surf the web on & to write on than a laptop…and i don’t even use the magic keyboard, i type right on the screen using the digital keyboard! Yup, I have fully adapted to an iPad iOS only workflow. To all those complaining about how ipads need to be more like regular computers, my advice is just stick with your laptops & pcs. Us true iPad Power users love our iPads just the way they are. 😉

iPads are great for different level of usage. Perfect for kids for media and for me it’s great for media. Even if that’s all I use it for that’s a great purpose

My MacBook Pro is better for all other usage and for typing Mac is certainly superior
