Strange Stuff with 12" PB Availability

Amazon has the 12" PB, in stock, but it seems to be only through J & R and lacking the $100 rebate from Amazon. The Amazon $100 rebate version has been appearing and disappearing from their store over the past several days.

Apple.com just posted a bunch of refurbished hardware, including 12" PB's, at very attractive prices, e.g., $1399 for 12" Combo. But when I put it in my cart, it says estimated shipping time is 30 business days. A month!!!

Any ideas as to what is going on?

Rebates are a sales ploy and are unrelated to Apple promotions.

A 30 day wait on referbished products gives them time to referbish the products that they have in house. It is usualy a very consertive estimate, which gives them some wiggle room should something go wrong with the unit. It also may alow them to get one in.
