Guys, I really need a substitude for Media Player. I need to play the music samples at http://www.allmusic.com/. When I press to view one of them, Media Player opens, and it says it is getting connected. But it doesn't! It shows continuously "Connecting..." but it doesn'tt display anything, even if i leave it for a long time.

This is not the first time this happens.

I tried Real Player... it says it cannot play the samples. What can I do?

Also, can you tell me what exactly RealPlayer is supposed to do?

I'm not sure what you can do, all you need is something that can read .asf files. Windows media player always works for me with that format, but I'm on a PC, so I can't directly help.

Try searching around (google) for something that plays .asf files.

You can get Windows Media Player for Mac. Just go on Microsoft's website. Useful to have, although I'm not sure it supports all the file types its Windows counterpart does.

edit: Whoops sorry. Misread what the thread was about. Ignore this post.
