"Sync session failed to start"

    Both my iPhone and iPad are having problems syncing with my Macbook. They worked fine a few days ago, but now when I plug them in, I get an error saying that the "sync session failed to start". How do I fix this?

    Reboot devices, reboot computer and try again.
