Hi,
I finally had a moment to transfer some of my own tapes.
so i take my wildlife digital8 tape, pop it into my maxell 8mm rewinder and rewind.
put my tape in and there are tons of digital artifacts! sound cuts out intermittently too! wtf?
i popped in a tape which i didn't rewind and it's fine.
i tried the wildlife tape in another camcorder and the same thing is present so i know it's not tape #1.
also, i had just cleaned my camcorder last week with one of those tapes.
has anyone seen this happen before?
i wouldn't think the tape rewinder could damage the tape b/c it's just rewinding. i don't the tape actually runs through any guides or anything.
thank God it wasn't a family tape.
help me obi-wans.
cheers,
Keebler
