Anyone believing that Apple follows the first in, first out principle should pay attention to this.

My friend and I live in the same town in Sweden ten minutes from each other and we ordered the exact same specification: 27" 3.2GHz i5 3TB Fusion 680MX 8GB with AppleCare and education discount. My order was in two minutes after AppleStore went up on Friday 30th. Due to a trip his order was not in until early morning Sunday 2nd. His is now preparing for shipment, mine is processing. Nice one, Apple.

Did you both pay with creditcard.. or wired transfer?

Just checked my credit card online… under Pending Transactions there has been a £1 charge from 'APPLE DISTRIBUTION INTERNATIONAL EMEA.'

I'm hoping they just tested my card ahead of changing status to 'Preparing for Shipment,' building my iMac, and then charging my card fully. Here's hoping! Has anyone else noticed such a charge on their card? And if so how long was it from that until the status changed from 'Processing?'

I wonder if it has anything to do with apple communicating with our banks/credit card companies, if you both paid the same way with the same banks and the same amount of money in each account that would be very strange.

Just a theory though, otherwise I can't understand it, it should be first come first served.

We both used a standard Nordea debit card, so exactly the same one.

My delivery date is on the 19. It shipped yesterday. You will probable get it next week as well.

somehow I think they calculate if they will manage to deliver the package before xmas, if not there's hardly nothing happening during xmas and new year - so either you get a before or after date. I hope you are right though, almost 3 weeks for delivery isn't exactly fast.

Thanks for the tracking links, Expeditors worked for me.

Mine is now en route via Lufthansa from Shanghai - all the way to Heathrow, where it's landing at 20:21 today. Woohoo! :)

Does anyone else have UPS ireland as their carrier in their email, despite it being delivered to the UK?

Mine is just UPS.

It is still sitting in Shanghai after an export scan about 16 hours ago. I guess it won't now move until tomorrow (Sunday) evening, but should still be on track for delivery on the 19th.

Looks like yours is in the same batch as mine. Impatience is going to kill me before Wednesday...

I ordered my iMac through a third party (managed toget a better deal, and it will be getting delivered to there, and then sent to me) so I have no ability for me to track directly. I can't tell whether that is a good or bad thing looking at this thread. It stops me getting annoyed, and paranoid as I would constantly be checking. But yet I feel like I am missing out.

I will just not expect it until 3-9th Jan which was the original date I was told. :(
