I'm "selling" my iPod to my younger brother, (his has gone MIA) and since we both use the iTMS, with separate accounts, we've registered our iPods. How can I "unregister" my iPod so that my brother can "reregister" it using his Apple ID?

It's a black, 5G, 30GB iPod.

I think you could just restore the firmware and it should ask you to register the iPod and I think you don't have to worry about de-registering it first. I am usually wrong though.

I'm not sure that registration is all that important though.

It is. I've always registered and never had problems with DRM, but he didn't register, and when he first started buying songs, etc. they wouldn't play on his 4G. I convinced him to register it and then everything was fine.
