Upgrade to Tiger

I remember Apple offering Tiger for free (or very little) to people who bought a computer just before other versions of OS X. Does anyone remember the timeframe on those offers? As in, how long prior to the OS release did the purchase have to be to qualify?

And are there any indications that Apple will do a similar thing with Tiger?

do you mean Panther? Tiger isnt even out yet, and its only about a week before or maybe two at the very most, and its a $20 charge (shipping and such)
