I am slowly converting everything in my household to USB-C and of course my next Macbook will be charged over USB-C.

At the beginning of the new MB there were some reports that 3rd party usb-c hubs were damaging the Macbooks battery. To my birthday I got some usb-c hubs and I am thinking about if they are even safe to use?

I mean.. how in the world could you know without buying the original, totally overpriced stuff from the companies that make the smatphones/tablets etc...?

Any experience that this problem really exists or was it just a hype?

Happy for any answer. Thanks :)
