Can anyone recommend a good Video Recording Software that can be setup to record live video from a webcam? I have a Logitech C910 that records HD 1080p and would like to use it for a wide angle 2nd camera. I need something that will allow me to setup the recording's RAW video to an external drive so no video will record on the system's hard drive to save space. Final Cut Pro X only recognizes the isight camera and nothing else, so I cannot use it to record live. Quicktime records first to memory then dumps the file to the drive when completed. I will be recording up to three hours, so that option does not work also.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Check out Screenflow (paid) or OBS www.obsproject.com (free).

Thanks! I checked out Screenflow and looks ok, but like a free option of course. Will check out OBS. I am a big fan of the open source communities. Would love to convert to Linux, but software is still limited.
