They really need to add more functionality to voicemail, like making folders to put voicemails in and able to listen to them when you exit the app.
 
Wondering about this too. The app keeps the messages in there for you by date and you can listen to it anytime.

What would be the reason to move the Vm out to another app?

I also have a feeling there would be legal reasons for not allowing a user to move a voicemail to another app, etc

Remember we actually don't own the voice messages. The recordings actually are the property of the carrier.
 
Use youmail.. Ios visual voicemail is way limited and outdated

You were talking about listening to the voicemail after closing the app. So I guess I assumed you meant listening in another app.

Yea I can be going through my Twitter feed while i listen to my voice mail
