What 3-D modeling software is best for me?

I'm a longtime Illustrator and Photoshop user looking for a 3-D modeling software to help me design cabinets and furniture. I'd like something that will allow me to be spontaneous while working but also produce drawings with dimensions and other specs. Any thoughts?

go to apple.com > made4mac > 2D/3D Graphics & Animation and then do a search for CAD

among the CAD software there're at least a couple of cabinet/furniture related products listed.....I haven't tried either of these but check them out; InteriorCAD, Design Intuition (you'll find links to their sites at apple's site)
