Just using Disk Utility to archive some stuff and I came across different compression formats and one of the option is a ipodimage format. Anyone know what it is?

What is .ipodimage?

I dunno. I tried it out. File saved as filename.ipodimage.dmg Functioned just like a regular .dmg but then Im thinking, if its just a .dmg, what is the point of the .ipodimage option?
One wild guess, possibly a virtual ipod "disk" kind of like the old .img files back in the OS 9 days. Can't picture a scenario of its usage though -- ipod mirroring?
