as the title.

I just don't wanna convert the two pdf files into image and then join them up.

Is there any other way doing this without Acrobat?

Depends on the tools you have - drop them both into Word or Quark or something and reprint them would be a reasonable option.

Will this work??

but as I know, microsoft Word cannot open PDF files 'cause i've tried it.

Quark? you mean Quark Express? I may try it out but i don't think Quark will free of charge...

so, is there any low-cost little app or something free to accomplish the merge? thanks everyone.

I've tried to open several files(including pdf, jpeg...etc) with Preview at the same time, but it cannot export all the stuff into one single file, no matter what file type. In fact, in Preview, i just cannot Select All pages.
:)

Hmmm. Just worked for me?

You are correct - XPress isn't free, I just thought you might have it. Sounds like you're pretty constrained.

Try this. I haven't used it, but did a quick search and found it.

I have LaTeX installed (via fink), so I just execute

Code:
texexec --pdfarrange --result out.pdf file1.pdf file2.pdf

in the terminal.

I think the trick is that MS Word will only import single-page PDFs.
Ah, that's it. I only checked a one-page document. I also tried dragging individual pages from Preview with no luck. I think the best bet is one of the combiners mentioned above.
