Please help me figure this out. Here's my current setup:

1. Mini = main computer
2. USB-only external drive = Media storage and data backup
3. iBook = Mobile unit, occasionally used in Target Drive mode via firewire.

I'm going to buy a Macbook to use as my main computer, which means I'm free to use the Mini and/or the iBook as bootable external backup drives. That leaves the USB-only external drive, which would continue to be my media storage drive.

Question: Can I set up this new system so ALL drives are visible on the Macbook, and if so, what configuration would that require?

Thanks!

you could leave the mini running, then just plug the disk into that via USB, as long as you have file sharing enabled and properly configured you will be able to see the drive from any mac on the network.

same for the iBook, just enable sharing, and you can get to it over the network.

If you're not going to be using the mini on a daily basis, hook it up to the tv it makes a decent media center.
look into Remote Buddy for full control using the remote (the name is a link, was hard for me to see)
