I have mine set at 24 in both Safari and Firefox. I know that seems extremely large to some of you (Chundles ) but I still read the newspaper without glasses just fine. I just like the large fonts for the screen. If some of you say the default size in Safari - what size is that?

Times 16 is the default on mine, I believe, but I sometimes use Apple+ when my eyes are tired. If you need 24 you need to find another hobby ;)

I fell off my chair when I saw the screenshot. I thought someone had just thrown the monitor at my face.

Damn, you need telescopes for glasses man. Mine is set at 11pt however I am comfortable at 9pt on screen. 8pt is nice for print but borderline annoyingly small for some. When designing business cards I usually use 6-7pt type.

24 may not be that large if you use a huge monitor (42"). I use 16 pt on screen and 8 pt on data reports 9 pt on audit reports.

Default in Safari, but I can handle default -3 (the smallest size), the only reason I use default is because I think it looks better proportioned on my 17" screen. If I'm writing in NeoOffice I write in size 12, zoomed at 50-75%.
