I don't understand this "OMG BLINDING WHITE, THE WORLD IS ENDING!" complaint so many people are having. What about the websites you read on a daily basis, including this very site which has a white background? What about all of the white in iOS 6 (mail, messages, contacts, etc)? What are you actually doing in iOS 7 where you are constantly seeing full screens of white all the time? Because I can't think of any app that I have on the screen for an extended period of time other than games, Safari, or Facebook, and none of those have anything to do with this "white" debacle.
Why don't you just lower the brightness a bit? Or increase your font size?
