Why does the iPhone 6 have the same microphone as the 5S for video recording audio ?

It sounds terribly muffled. Crazy how the iPhone 4 that came out 4 years ago has a WAY better microphone.
Does anyone else agree? And the Note 3 that came out last year also has a way better microphone.
I thought Apple paid attention to those kinds of details ?
