Why don't books show up on both devices?

I have downloaded a book on the iPad and a different book on my iPhone. Why don't both books show up on both devices like the Kindle does? Maybe I am doing something wrong please help.

Was it something that I said? Does no one know the answer?

Well I think that I need to sync all of my books from all of my devices via iTunes and sync cord. Does anyone know if this is correct. It would be nice to be able to do this OTA though.
