When I look in the about option in the menus, the AppleTv says it is running 4.0

I thought these were supposed to be running 4.1?

Software Update says it is already running the latest version.

Released firmware on internet says 4.1?

What gives?

It might just be an Apple TV that was made before 4.1 went GM. As for updating, it sometimes takes a few days before iTunes will see an update.

what version is yours running?

Is anyone running 4.1?

If so how do you force it to update?

You can force it to update by downloading the Apple TV 2,1 4.1 IPSW from the front page of MR. Then option clicking Restore and selecting the 4.1 IPSW. It should restore.

Since the AppleTV doesn't show up in iTunes anymore - I'm in the process of doing a restore which will download the latest software and install it - I'll let you know if it's still 4.0 after

Quick note:

AppleTV - Hardware Version 1:

1.0 - Original Front Row Interface
2.0 - Rentals (Take Two)
3.0 - Minor Changes (but still 3.0)

AppleTV - Hardware Version 2:

4.0 - Netflix, $1 Rentals (so this may be iOS 4.1 even though it's called 4.0 - seems odd not to call it 4.1 or 4.2 though)

So it does not show in Itunes?

Even with Home Sharing on?

Strange.

Airplay works for audio only on ipad ver 4.2 beta 2.

There is some audio lag too.
