Will Apple launch again a 9.7 inch iPad Pro in Fall after Apple releases the iPad Air -3 aka iPad Pro 9.7" next week ?

The question might be if Appe launch another 9.7 iPad Air in the Fall as a lower budget alternative to the 9.7 iPP or of if the Air is completely dead.....

No I am saying for the same iPad Air -3 which gets released next week will Appple also go ahead and launch another model in Fall ?

When I say another I mean with some new improvements and additions... So are we saying the next 9.7" iPad Pro or iPad Air-4 will come in fall of 2017 ?

Again why ask the question. Other then the iPad 4 the iPads have always been on a yearly cycle. The main reason why the iPad 4 was released when it was because they wanted to bring it in line with other iOS devices regards the Lightning connection. It's simply not going to happen this year.

Exactly the example I was going to quote here between what happened between the iPad-3 & iPad-4.

No, sales are weak enough as it stands, why roll out another model just to further dilute their sales.

What bearing does that example have. It was a one off and an exception to the rule when it comes to iOS devices. There is no compelling reason for Apple to release another model this year.

Infact another model will give one more buying option to the buyers therby in fact increasing sales ! That will help ? Will it not ?

the *only* way i see history repeating itself is if the mythical 4k rumour came to fruition and they again needed to play catch up with underpowered internals for the display. but 99.9% chance that won't happen, and we will know for sure in less than 2 weeks.

well let me put this back to you, does it increase or decrease your confidence as a buyer knowing apple will add new hardware features every 6 months, thus making your existing purchase horribly outdated an not future proofed ;)

No, because it won't generate new customers. You'll get existing customers choosing between two models, thus diluting the sales.

Well - other than the iPad 4 and this new iPad pro, they've been on a yearly cycle. So not really that consistent

I doubt it though.

Apple generally is incomprehensible policy . Maybe in 2 years they will reduce gadget size

I atleast see that happening next year iPad becoming extra more slimmer than 2016 iPad.

What would be awesome is a kind of "trade in" program. For example if we could return our old iPad Air for a discounted iPad pro 9.7. But I guess I'm dreaming...
