Worth installing on Late-2013 15" MBP?

Is there any performance reduction with macOS Sierra on a Late-2013 MBP? Or is the performance better? Assuming one's not interested in the new features, is it worth updating?
What is the minimum memory requirement? I read somewhere that it is 4GB but read somewhere else that it is 2GB.

Installed on an early 2014 MbA and a 1st gen MB (4GB, 8GB ram) an hour after release. Clean Installs without performance issue up to this point.
