Interesting

you can now scroll with the trackpad like you can an ipod. Also, it has motion sensors too on it now.

Ready to Scroll

Scrolling through web pages or large documents on a trackpad can challenge even the most nimble fingers. That’s why every PowerBook G4 features a new trackpad with scrolling capability. Just drag two fingers over the trackpad to scroll vertically and horizontally or pan around any active window. Change this feature to suit your needs: Customize your trackpad settings or turn off scrolling completely via System Preferences.
Takes the Fall

Now every PowerBook G4 is equipped with Apple's Sudden Motion Sensor to help protect your most valuable asset: your data. The Sudden Motion Sensor senses change in axis position and accelerated movement. In the event of a drop or fall, the Sudden Motion Sensor instantly parks the hard drive heads so they won’t scratch the disks on impact, lessening the risk of damage and improving your chances of retrieving valuable data. When the Sudden Motion Sensor senses your PowerBook is once again level, it unlocks the hard drive heads automatically.

Looking at the FSB, these must still be 7447A G4s. I didn't think we'd get a G5 or a dual core G4 (last night's late night rumor) but I was kind of hoping for a 7448. I'll still probably buy a 12", of course.....

Ooo, they added a third speaker to the 12" powerbook to produce midrange sounds like the 15" and 17" powerbook too!

Nothing to ground-breaking but does freshen the line up a bit.

Good to see the adoption of BT2.0, this is a first for Apple isn’t it?

Bodes well for the future as I believe this will allow stereo quality BT headsets. Looking forward to seeing BT in iPods next time they get update.

Price drops combined with that new trackpad for scrollling, nice. G5, we'll see you at WWDC, but these are still quite nice.

it's funny how it's always "the fastest _____ ever".. where the blank is a specific apple product... i'd sure hope they continue to make faster products rather than putting out slower ones..

512 mb ram standard is nice.

other than that, seems pretty much a speedbump, though i don't recall what graphics were in the old ones...

how much were the price drops?

Cool! I'm not in the market for a new laptop just yet, but it's nice to see Apple do something to refresh the line. And price drops are always nice.

and it's not even Tuesday!
