Anytime I try to watch a trailer or movie preview it is UNBEARABLY slow to start.

Thing is, Netflix, Vevo, Radio, etc, all work fine, so don't think it's my internet connection.

Usually use my ISP (BT) DNS settings but have also tried OpenDNS and Google DNS, same problem.

Apple TV 3, wired.

I concur

I don't have a fix, but I can commiserate...

I've been experiencing this as well. Rented movies, Netflix, etc. play without a hitch, but I'm constantly having to pause and/or rewind trailers so that they load all the way.

I've been wondering what's causing this, myself. (ATV 3/wireless/Canada)

Is your AppleTV updated to the newest firmware? That could be the problem. Plex used a vulnerability in the trailers app to access the ATV and the update removed that backdoor. So there may be an issue with that for a little while.

Finally someone experiencing the same issue I'm having...not that this makes it right...

I don't have any issues with streaming with my apple TV. I can stream HD with no issues whatsoever. Unfortunately a few months ago I started having problems with the trailer app on apple tv.
My hunch is that somehow those streams are at 1080 unlike other content I stream at 720 according to my settings.

I hope they fix this soon because the trailers app is useless the way it is right now.

Guess I know the reason for this…I read somewhere that Apple changed trailers from http to https to block the Plex exploit....I guess streaming is slow because of the httpS. Even so....why are all users penalized because of the exploit? Not fair
