Any suggestions for a great case that doesn't make it super bulky?

how about the ones that comes with the old 5.5G ipods

Thats what I have, and I love it! Thin, and I am able to wrap the cord around for storage.

Yep, I got the same one as Crash-n-Burn. I'm happy very with it. It doesn't really make it any heavier or bulkier.

THis one is the best, it feets good on hand, and the Touch still looks thing and small. Other cases increase the TOuch's size too much. Also, this one has a complete set for back and front protection, all inckluded
The best 'simple' case:
http://store.apple.com/0120-APPLE-1/WebObjects/japanstore.woa/wa/RSLID?n=ipodtouch1&fnode=home/shop_ipod/ipod_accessories/cases&nplm=TQ371J/A&mco=6CF6B5A6
Unfortunaltley, it's a made in Japan product, but I guess you can import it.
(buy the black one, then you will have a great look!)

I think the best cases are the griffin.
clear and reflect...
Still waiting for mine though

the GF has a Griffin iClear shell on hers, it's still incredibly thin. She actually just wanted the invisible skin because she was afraid of the extra bulk. After getting the case on she agreed that I made the right choice in buying it for her, it's gonna really protect the iPod.

Just got an iClear for only about $15 at Wal-Mart.... great deal, and cheaper than the Apple Store or online. As iLounge says, REFLECT is good too, but the reflecting nature just isn't worth the $25 price.

I've had one of these for my 80GBVideo for a year or so. Best case out there that i've seen. 1 Downfall. Headphone jacks other than the iPod headphones will not fit properly. I've dropped it a few times and it just bounces. Just ordered one for the iTouch.

Not sure about protection, but quite beautiful!

Hello,

I'm looking for a case for my iPod Touch. At the beginning I was looking for a case with screen protector (but not film protector). As it was (nearly) impossible to find any I started to look for other cases. Currently I'm considering buying one of those:
Ultra Clear - CLEARonBLACK (http://xskn.com/?m=Products&sid=269&cid=1) or DLO HipCase Nylon (http://www.dlo.com/Products/hc_nylon_touch_Prod.tpl?command=showpage&cart=1195769375100600).

Any suggestions? Is any of them worth buying or should I look for something else?

BTW: Is there any case that:
:apple: has belt clip,
:apple: allows to keep iPod Touch in horizontal position (like DLO HipCase Nylon),
:apple: has "integrated" screen protector (like Ultra Clear - CLEARonBLACK),
:apple: is designed for iPod Touch (not for iPhone),
:apple: is of good quality,
:apple: is worth buying?

Best reg:apple:rds,

The DLO nylon one looks like what I'll be getting soon.

I just got an incase "protective cover" today. It's pretty much the "bumper" case that is used on the iphone but for the touch. Mine's black.

I'm going to be getting this one (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ipod/review/dlo-videoshell-for-ipod-touch/)
Looks good, plus kickstand.

I had one for my video iPod from this company and it was gorgeous.

Hopefully the iPod Touch version is just as nice: http://www.contourcase.com/isee/iseetouch/

I had the "Showcase" model for my previous iPod and while I would like to wait for that version to come out, I don't want to leave my iPod unprotected in the meanwhile.

I had a Iclear today and It got scratched very easy. The plastic was hard to put on and I could see the dust on it...
I like my ipod touch naked that I just dont know what case to use, even though the back is very scratched now...

Any suggestion?

I just ordered a iSkin to replace the clear plastic shield on my touch. I don't really like the feel of the clear shield plus it made my touch look dusty.

I was hoping some of the suggestions here would help me find one also. Unfortunately, I didn't see what I was looking for. :(

Still, there are a lot of nice cases listed.

Check out this simple case idea and vehicle mount. www.stickyfingerscases.com

Its a simple velcro concept that works really well and has no bulky profile

Basically, its the fuzzy side of velcro that acts as a protective case for the phone, then it comes with the male side to put in the car or on the computer so the phone just sticks where you want it...

It can also be used to mount the phone to the side of the computer for an easy sync and charging station....

only $9.95

I have to say tumi tech is the one i have. its somewhat a hard case so if i drop it. i dont have to worry about the damage. tumi is best known for 500 dollar top of the line suitcases so i know i dont have to worry about a thing with my ipod touch.

It looks like it will add some bulk, but I like the look/functionality of the SwitchEasy NeoTouch (http://www.switcheasy.com/products/NeoTouch/NeoTouch.php#).

I have the Speck Candyshell- (as they put it- hard shell, soft center) and I love it- I have the black and gold one....Go Tigers! I see they have a red and white one on their website- The Apple Store carried other colors as well so I bet you could find several other colors on the web or Apple Store.

http://www.speckproducts.com/products/candyshell/ipod-touch-2nd-gen/188

It is hard shell on the outside for protection, soft silicone on the inside for shock absorption, fits very nicely around the 2G iPod Touch. The hard shell is not too slick, but it feels more like the hard case of the iPod Touch itself. The volume buttons are not the easiest to push through the case, but not too difficult either.

The protective clear overlay for the screen that comes with the Speck didn't go on perfectly- so I just used the Griffin (I think) screen protectors which went on in about 3 seconds that I already owned and were cheap to purchase.

How soon do you think they'll make one for the 3rd Gen?

I like the looks of the Speck CandyShell. That's pretty cool. Stopped by the Apple store today and didn't see any by Speck. They didn't have much of a selection. Went by Best Buy and they didn't have much either.

I also like the Ifrogz cases. I prefer the Luxe. I think they are a little expensive (cheaper on Amazon, and about $10 less than Speck), but you do get a screen protector with it. I bought a case for my 30GB Video 5G a number of years ago and it has held up great. Ifrogz has good products IMO!

Switcheasy seems to make the best cases right now according to iLounge. Their cases are super stylish and come with lots of accessories (screen protectors, dock covers, etc, etc.) but are still reasonably priced ($25). Look on their website their cases are gorgeous.

I *just* dropped my Touch from chest height walking into the house (I thought that finger had my KEYS, not my Touch against the clipboard), i'm 5'5" so i'd say it was about 4' given how i was carrying all the junk in my hands.

It bounced on the concrete.

All is well.....

http://dlo.com/products/view/JJGame_touch2G

Sleek? Nope.
Pretty? Probably not.
Ergonomic? I really like the thicker ends it gives the Touch.

Protective? Apparently.

I recently got the Power Support air case: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TX745LL/A?n=ipodtouch2&fnode=MTY1NDA4Mg&mco=MTM3ODI5MDQ&p=4&s=topSellers

and I love how slender it makes my Touch feel, after using a Griffin clear case. You get both a mirror and a matte screen protector, and the mirror one is very nice!

I originally wanted the Slider: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TX955ZM/A?n=ipodtouch2&fnode=MTY1NDA4Mg&mco=MTUzNjg2OTk&p=3&s=topSellers

but it was $10 more and I'd still need to buy another screen protector.

I don't think it would protect the touch if it fell hard on concrete, but falls to the carpet were handled easily. This case has gotten some minor scratching on the back, but while it has a metallic look, it's not a chrome-style finish like the Slider. The scratches don't look like much, and I love how dressed up it is with the gold backing. :)

I have been using the incase slider which I like alot but I was given the Ottorbox Defender case for xmas, which I like more now and should provide more protection than the incase one I have. The only drawback with this case is it was easier and quicker for me to remove the slider to use it in the dock with the remote when I watch movies on the tv (but I will get over it).

We use Agent18 clearshields here. They don't add any bulk, and protect well. My iPod Touch 1st Gen still looks new after almost 2 years of use.

I really like the iFrogz cases. I bought one (new) on eBay for under $20. It's "back heavy" so I can confirm when the device has slipped out of my little one's hands, it either falls on it's back or even if it does fall on the front, it has enough of a lip/edge it doesn't scratch/crack the screen.

Am I the only one who thinks it sucks that you have to buy cases for all these Apple products? I mean, they're designed as portable products, so they should be rugged enough for normal use by themselves.

Anyway, I'm looking for something cheap and decent too. I'd like something as small as possible, for carrying the thing in my pocket, and also probably a leather case.

liamkp
Jun 8, 2010, 09:52 AM
they have generic leather flip cases (http://cgi.ebay.com/LEATHER-CASE-COVER-APPLE-iPOD-TOUCH-ITOUCH-2-2G-2ND-/190399950351?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item2c54b8ae0f) for the ipod touch for around like a few bucks, and i wrote this in another post but im not sure if its true, i heard that apple made a deal with case companys to use the chrome/stainless steel (whichever one it is) so we keep worrying that itll scratch and buy their cases. well its working, and if its not true, then why would they use the chrome/stainless steel backing? and if you dont want leather than the switcheasy nude looks promising... but it might not be in the price range your looking for. :D

They came out with the CM-IW200 that goes in your wall to use your iPod Touch as a control mount.

Anyone have this or the previous version?

I bought mine a year ago for my ipod touch 2nd gen. I first got a skullcandy hardshell case dropped it once and it shattered. Then i went back to bestbuy and looked there and I found a dlo hardshell case that had rubber around the screen and the ports plus it came with an itunes giftcard:) And the best part was they were on clearence for 9 bucks so I grabbed it and its lasted forever no problems. Keeps sand out of the back cause of the rubber and it has a piece of rubber in the back so it does'nt slide in my hand and makes it very comfortable to hold.:apple:
