Too good to be true?

I am ever suspicious of the 'too good' deals, and this falls under that :

OEM Software

what do you all think? The site seems better made than the average piracy sites, and the FAQ is almost respectable, and they even 'guarantee' the software. But I could not find any contact details for them, neither phone nor address or even email....

Maybe I could check with any of the manufacturers listed like Adobe? Anybody know who/where?

Who and where the domain is registered too isnt really an issue since if this guy made arangments with a hosting company to register it the site wouldn't be in his name anyway

. Now the $ thing can also be explained if you assume that the guy is going for consistancy - most websites today using $. Though if you ask me, saddly it probably is too good to be true

Unfortunately, these are pirated software.

It is true that there are many pirated software for sale outside the US for really cheap (much cheaper than what this site is advertizing for). Many cost a little more than the medium it is on (a blank CD). Windows XP Pro could be had for a few US dollars, for example. Some websites even post the ISO images of the retail CDs of the software for download if one knows how to get to these URLs. Then the product key is downloaded from a different place, again, if one knows how.

Theres a shame, i'm trying to keep my pirated software purly on windows so my mac is nice and clean

. Though i have to say that i like the look of Photoshop CS for that price, especially since i'm gonna end up paying for the full CS suite later in the year

Well that URL is just a mask, and the real URL is http://www.compforhome.com.
I did a Google search on compforhome and it seems it has been blacklisted for spam. Link

If moral/legal issues are not a problem for you, why don't you just go and download whatever you want instead of buying pirated software? Putting money into the deal just makes it worse. And who knows, what if they don't deliver?

Come on, even if there was an email or phone number, I can put my own number and email on a fake site...if you really want proof a site is legit, contact one of the software manufacturers and ask them if they are an outlet to sell the stuff. The only way a manufacturer isn't going to list a site/location as a legit seller would be if they get it similar to how Sam's club or other places get their stuff- closeouts, old versions, going out of business sales, etc. but that would not usually be on the most recent versions.

The software is pirated and/or the company is phony.

Either way this is bad. Why would you pay for something pirated? That's worse than downloading pirated software...

If it's phony, you lose your money.
