For those having problems with the download making a folder with subfolders, the trick is unchecking "open safe downloads" in your safari preferences

then when it downloads, remove the .zip extension in finder

you should be good to go

Would everyone please stop downloading this now!! - because I am trying to download it and it's taking forever ;)

hey i tried to instal also but now my $20 upgrade is gone. i've restored before and it automatically updated the apps for me but now it won't. any idea what i need to do?

I would try restoring it again; and maybe restarting both your iPod Touch and computer again. This happened to me once, but after a restart it cleared up. Hopefully the iPhone 2.0 updater doesn't screw up the iPod Touch irrevocably!

If its free for iPod Touch, I'll do it right now. It'll cost ten dollars tomorrow, so why not?

Free, or not free. That is the question.

dont be cheep its 10 bucks for crying outloud youll be using some of that to get games anyway get the update and dont look back ;)

Once downloaded, how do I install in Windows. I clicked on ctrl and Check For Update, but it still says "No Updates Available". I remember doing this with 1.2 but don't remember the key combination to ask for the file name.

shift + click

Is Apple throttling downloads on this? It will start the download nice and fast - then it goes to a crawl about 30% through. Anyone else experiencing this?

Its not me, I just downloaded some other stuff just fine.

Update for iPhone Successful

I updated my iPhone from 1.1.4 to 2.0 using this firmware. It worked perfectly.

I used firefox to download the firmware, and no rename was required. I was surprised at the size - over 200Megs!

Anyway, confirmed, this works perfect on the iPhone and the update was uneventful.

Now off to the iTunes store for some apps!

Hurray!
