Everyone's assuming that we won't get a larger screen because the only leaked parts we've seen so far correspond with the form factor of the iPhone-4, but isn't possible to keep the phone's design intact, while still giving it a bigger screen? The Nano 4 & 5 are a perfect example of this.

Oh wait. You meant the annual refresh is delayed, from July to October. That's not a delayed shipment, it's a delayed launch. Apple delayed no shipments, but they did delay the unveiling and subsequent launch.

This is not at all an indication of the iPod touch not being updated, or lack of the iPhone 5. Just the opposite.
The N81A is an updated black iPod touch. No redesign. New internals. No white model coming, that was fantasy and never confirmed.
The new iPhone 4 model is obviously the new 8 GB black model to sell for $99.
The N94 is and always has been the iPhone 5.

People seem to be glossing over the N94 and just assuming these new numbers mean a "4S" only. Maybe I'm reading things wrong. There has been hard evidence of the N94 in iOS5. In my opinion, that's pretty solid. IMO this source of the new codes for a 4S in addition to the N94 showing up in beta is a pretty good indicator there will be 2 phones.
Has there been anything recently on the N97? I haven't heard about that one in a while now.
I should probably just let it go and wait until the 4th. 🙂

I asked in another thread if anyone has calculated the diagonal size of the display, if you took the width edge-to-edge. I don't think it's much, just eyeballing it I'd say maybe 3.7-3.8"
The problem with the Nano is they changed the display ratio, can't really do that with the iPhone/iOS, things need to stay 960x640.
Personally, I'd _wait_ two days, see what Apple releases, and then if it's not compelling enough maybe do your buy (and possibly return) plan.
If you have any interest in the next iPhone, why not wait? It might blow your doors off, and then you could simply buy the iPhone and be done with it 🙂

IPHONE 4 (n90, n92) will drop to the discount pricepoint that the 3GS was filling. It will get minor upgrades (antenna fix and a dual GSM/CDMA chip to consolidate it to one set of phones) the new models will get the name (n90a) to indicate that they are minor upgrades and unified chips. It will be produced in 8 and maybe 16gb.
IPHONE 4+ (n94) will be released only in asian markets. Asian markets will only get ONE model. It will be in iphone 4 casing and may have upgraded features and WILL have world modes.
IPHONE 5 (n100?) will be released October 14/15 on major carriers. It will have the A5, new housing, etc. It will fill the 199/299 price point that the 4 had before it. It will have a dual GSM/CDMA and there will be two capacities and both colors from launch. All carriers will get the same phones.
In North America and Europe there will only be two phones. The IPHONE 4 will continue to be sold and the IPHONE 5 will be introduced. ATT and Verizon will keep clearing out N90 phones and as they run out, they will be replaced with N90A phones without fanfare. Sprint will begin carrying the N90a beginning at the launch of the 5. That way they can smoothly transition to a single set of phones for all carriers and ATT/Verizon can transition the Iphone 4 from 200 to 150 to 100 to become the budget phone.
Unless you are in China/Asia you will not see an iphone 4S/4+. The rest of us will get a cheaper 4, and a brand new 5 with many of the rumored upgrades. Its all in the WSJ and reliable source leaks.

Wow, you are the only one on this thread bickering about the ATV...this thread is about iPod Touch and iPhone part numbers, not ATV part numbers, and not iOS devices in general.
Second - your whole original point was that you thought the ATV was hardware limited, not software limited. We have shown you that is not the case. End of discussion.
Go cry for an ATV update in the appropriate section of the forums, where people will actually want to hear about it. (Hint: Apple TV section)

TV is an iOS device. It is usually touted at the Fall event which is now impending. This thread is about "Mr. X" spying new part numbers of iOS-based stuff. TV is one iOS-based product. Hopefully, a new part number of it shows up soon too.As in, you literally didn't see it coming. There wasn't a single confirmed leak this year.
I'm right there bro. why did my iPod cost $399 and they don't even make a comperable iphone, but based on their pricing structure, it would cost $899

Well, I have been waiting, and I'm not impatient, but ..........
I have been an iphone fanboy for 3yrs running, and only researched the Galaxy Sll a few days ago. I felt hypocritical not giving one of these devices a try, (how would I ever know which one was really better for me)?
Now then, you really have put me right back on the fence about what to do 🙂
If I get a GalaxySll, I can try it out for up to 30 days, (and not put up with the swarms trying for the iphone5 on the 14th and days after).
On the other hand, I have been using a piece of crap 3g for 3 years, and really want to get my hands on a 5 right away. (tried a iphone4 in July, but the reception truely sucked, I was shocked and forced to returned it).
Has anyone on this thread had the chance to use a GalaxySll, whatta you think?
When I put the 2 together, one conclusion I come to is that Apple was better at preventing leaks of a redesigned iPhone.
My friend got one for free and I got to play with it the other day...it is effing awesome. If Apple doesn't blow that screen up, or introduce something I just can't live without, I'm getting that phone.

Apple left the 4 in a bar...and it ruined the surprise for everyone, in their eyes, I'm sure. To make sure nothing like that happened again, I am sure they have been XXXtremely careful this time around...putting internals inside iPhone 4's to use the device without giving away the form factor.
That's my theory, and my hope.
