iPod firmware 1.1.5

it seems today apple have released firmware 1.1.5 today for users on 1.1.4 can simply press update and they will get a message about 1.1.5 and the good news is it's jailbreakable still as per 1.1.4.

iPod1,1_1.1.5_4B1_Restore is the name and you do not see it in itunes you can it here: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ in the second drop down menu and yes its official and on the apple servers

EDIT: here is direct link off apple servers: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....1_Restore.ipsw

Is it for 1.1.4 only? Or could someone with an earlier firmware, and missing some of the Apps download it for free?

That weird. Why would Apple do that? It's almost like they're saying "here you go jailbreakers, here's a more stable/improved firmware for you guys who don't wanna pay for your apps".

yup lol

you gotta love them, everyone elses up with a dodgy 2.0 that crashs' and the jailbreakers end up with a usable product priceless

My iPod is on 1.1.4, lemme hook it up and see... I sort of hope this is true!

1.1.5... what does it have? I'll try and tell you once it finishes?

EDIT: Not there. :l

Just like OSX, they continue to do security/stability updates to older OSs, 10.4 is on .11 right now. Plus they may want to update it to work with mobileme email, just basic functionality no push. Changing .mac references to .me, etc.

Apple: As of right now, there is now 1.1.5, 2.0 is the most up-to-date.

Why are you acting as if the "Jailbreakers" are doing anything wrong?

What is the obsession with blanking out serial numbers on screen shots? What is anyone going to do with that?

This is TOTAL BS!!!

I as an itouch owner am OUTRAGED at this garbage!

Apple should be charging at least $4.95 for this update, and not just give it out for free!

The testing of 2.0.1 for the iPhone doesn't surprise me.

Am I the only one that thinks that the inputting of text and Sarfari isn't as responsive as they once were?

Sarfari in particular keeps hanging up since I updated. I've tried restore but no change.

Or is it just my imagination that 2.0 isn't as stable as before?

Apparently the spellchecker is broken too

Or is Sarfari like Colour vs. color?

So if I buy a brand new ipod touch from the Apple store today, what OS is on the touch? Is it 2.0 or is it 1.1.5?

You are probably going to get 1.1.4 when buying something from the store.

It's probably 1.1.4, actually. I bet after a few weeks in stores they'll mostly be 2.0. My guess is that you'll never actually see 1.1.5 on a brand new touch, because by the time they run out of stock on the ones that have 1.1.4, they'll all be 2.0 standard.
