I'm looking to buy a new MBA as well. I'm wanting something that I can lug around with little effort, so I'm going with the 11" MBA.

I hope they make a Macbook with a 13 in. screen that fits in the 11 in. package. Just like the Dell XPS 13. However, at present, I would not recommend the 11" unless you're fine with having such a small, narrow feeling screen. Plus your battery life isn't as good (for some reason).

Could be the smaller batteries? :)

Oh man! The 11" macbook Air is so nice, sometimes, I end up holding it with one hand while using the touch pad or typing. so portable!

Yup, it's great. I often hold it with one hand while reading web pages, or balance it on one leg. It's great for grabbing and handing to people if you want to show them a web page or something too. I wouldn't use anything bigger.

The 13" MBA is so close in size to the 13" rMBP that it's not worth getting it, given the upgrades available on the rMBP. The 11" MBA is the only one that makes sense given its distinct advantage in size over other MacBooks.

Yeah, the MBP 13" is close to the MBA 13", I think that's why I gravitated to the 11". Plus I have a 15" Dell that's for gaming so that's another reason for the 11" MBA.

Huh? The 13" fits wonderfully in an economy class airline seat. I've used my 13" rMBP over and over on airplanes with no issue at all.

It works until the person in front decides to put their seat back. Then you can't get a useful angle on the tray table with a 13" anymore.

well i just went with the 11". Don't regret it one bit. perfect size and weight.

Congrats on the 11" - you'll enjoy it; for the needs of a traveller, I find that nothing touches the 11" - its wonderful portability and neat size make it perfect for frequent travelling.

Yup, 11" is the way I'd go. The extra battery time on the 13" is nice, but not at the expense of the size. I'm a big guy with big hands, and I find the 13" to be pretty unwieldy. It's amazing what a difference 2" makes (no jokes). The 11" is so much easier to carry around, have on your lap, hold.

If it was going to be mostly stationary..on a desk or something, I'd go with the 13". But I don't think most people use laptops in that way.
